This guide will walk you through the steps to view and filter audit logs for changes made to students, parents, teachers, classrooms and Types in the system. Audits help track what was changed, by whom, and when, so you can review modifications made to records.
1. Accessing Audits for a Record
To view audits for a specific record (e.g., student or parent), follow these steps:
1. Navigate to the specific section (parent, student etc) mentioned above.
2. Select the profile whose audit you want to view.
3. Click on the "View Audits" button or menu in the profile from the 3 dotted icon. The audit page will open, showing a history of changes made to the student’s information
2. Understanding the Audit Logs
On the audit page, you'll see a table listing the changes made to the selected record. Here's what the columns represent:
Action: Describes the type of change, such as "Update"
Changes: Shows what fields were changed. The old value will be crossed out in red, and the new value will be highlighted in green. This helps you easily identify the changes.
- User: Identifies the user who made the changes.
- Date: The date and time when the changes were made
3. Filtering Audits by Date Range
You can filter the audits by specific date ranges using the dropdown filter at the top of the audit page. Available filter options:
- Today: Shows all changes made today.
- Past Week: Displays all changes made in the past 7 days.
- Past Month: Displays all changes made in the past 30 days.
- Custom Range: Allows you to specify a custom start and end date to view changes within that specific period.
4. Notes:
- Only users with appropriate permissions can view the audit logs.
- If no changes were made within the selected date range, you will see a message indicating that no audits were found.
