To create an exam you'll need to create the following items before.
1. Categories
2. Subjects
3. Semester (optional)
Categories:
Categories enables you to group your subjects together. Example, let's say you have a category called Duas. When you'll create your subjects you can select which category they belong to. Example, you'll create a subject called Eating Dua, Sleeping Dua and Toilet Dua, you can select the category Dua for all these subjects so that they are grouped.
Subjects:
Create subjects that are being offered in your maktab/madrassah or subjects could be anything you want the student to be tested on. For example, A Dua can be a subject as well as a Surah, or even Tajweed rules can be a subject (we will leave that part for you to decide). You also need to provide the total mark/points of this subject. For example, 10 is the total marks that can be given for a subject. If a student has answered all the correctly they should be awarded 10 marks max for that subject.
Exam:
When both categories and subjects are created you can go ahead and create the exams. You will need to provide a name and description for your exam and also associate the exam with a category as this will use the subjects that have been assigned to that category. You will also need to select which classroom this exam should be made available or which classroom is taking this exam in other words.
Once you have filled out all this click on Save to save the exam.
Grade Book:
Once the exam is created and the exam has been taken you can enter the grades in the system using the grade book feature.
You will need to select the classroom, exam, semester (if any), year, and month. If an exam is found for the following it will display you a list of all the students for the selected classroom and you can start to enter the exam marks for each of the subjects.
How to view the exam grades:
Once the exams grades have been entered into the grade book you can view the grades for each of the students by going to their profile and clicking on the grade book icon on the top right-hand corner.
You will need to select the classroom, exam, semester, and year to show all the grades for the select options.
